24Parallels Between EMS and NEPA Intermediate In their publication "Aligning National Environmental Policy Act Processes with Environmental Management Systems" the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) identified areas of overlap between NEPA and EMS. A thorough understanding of EMS and NEPA can yield numerous areas in which a base's EMS can be used to evaluate potential impacts from a proposed new action and areas in which the NEPA analysis can be used to update a base's EMS. 29Parallels Between ESOHCAMP Findings, Significant Aspects & Natural Infrastructure Assessments Beginner This course provides an overview of the synergies that exist between ESOHCAMP findings, EMS nonconformities and significant aspects, and natural infrastructure assessments (NIAs). Discussion will begin with a review of ESOHCAMPs, EMS, and NIAs. NIA makes environmental programs operational by linking natural infrastructure resources with the mission requirements they enable. In 2008, General Eulberg made EMS one of the major civil engineering transformation initiatives, named M7A. The purpose of the M7A transformation initiative was to standardize a management system to continually improve operational capability by reducing risks, impacts and costs and sustaining natural infrastructure assets. Currently, this initiative has evolved into what is now called the Air Force EMS/NIA Panel. This group has been tasked to streamline and standardize the ESOHCAMP, EMS, and NIA process. 84Occupational and Environmental Health Site Assessment Intermediate This course will cover policy and introduce/cover the new technical guide. The course will cover how OEHSA fits into the "big picture", DOEHRS utilization, exposure pathway special assessment and sampling, and integrating this process into the local OEH Management Program. Some EH sampling techniques will be presented. 
85Radiation Program Management Intermediate This course will cover base-level challenges/findings associated with radiation program management. Discuss the big ticket items of the day to help refocus BE. 
86OHCAMP - Tier 1, 2 and 3 Assessments Beginner This course will cover how to effectively manage, implement, conduct, and report OHCAMP assessments as well as integrate concepts into day-to-day operations and posture BE for success. 
87Sampling Strategies Intermediate This course will provide examples of different types (EH, IH, soil, DRIs, etc) of sampling strategies, discuss details of strategy, including DQOs. Maximizing potential for high quality data that can then be used statistically to establish exposure levels/use leading to effective HRAs. Strongly encourage the use of strategy driven sampling. Course will show tie in to OEHSA, and demonstrate DOEHRS use when applicable.  
88Drinking Water Program Challenges Intermediate This course will discuss solutions to challenges faced adminstering an effective drinking water program. The first hour will be a policy discussion on the revised AFI 48-144 (Drinking Water Surveillance Program), utility and housing privatization issues, proper oversight/tracking/management to avoid NOV’s, and contract development/implementation issues. The second hour will provide an overview on disinfection methods, DOEHRS Drinking Water Surveys, and the differences between the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) and Lead Contamination Control Act (LCCA). 
89DOEHRS EH Beginner This course will cover DOEHRS EH Module Updates, introduce the new EH Modules along with the new EH surveys, and explain when/how to use the surveys, and offer some training on completing the surveys. This course will also cover the DOEHRS EH module policy. 
90DOEHRS IH Beginner The Air Force uses the Defense Occupational & Environmental Health Readiness System (DOEHRS) for the collection and assessment of occupational health data. This course will provide a high-level overview to Bioenvironmental Engineering personnel on how to use DOEHRS to document the identification, evaluation, control and health risk assessment of occupational health hazards. The use of Discoverer worksheets for QA/QC of occupational health data will also be covered. A separate course will focus on the use of DOEHRS for environmental health data.

106The Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) - Advanced Implementation Beginner Designed for personnel with implementation responsibilities. Attendees should have previous knowledge of OSHA VPP Programs such as The Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) - Entry Level course. Courses discusses implementation strategies to include organization structure, partnering with unions, senior leader buy-in and support, leveraging mentors, eVPP tool use and DoD VPP Center of Excellence resources.  
107Advanced Electrial Safety Intermediate In order to fully understand how to make and keep a facility compliant with the arc-flash and electrical shock hazard analysis requirements, the hazards themselves must be understood. Temperatures of approximately 2030F for one-tenth of a second generally cause third-degree burns and approximately 1.2 cal/cm2 of incident energy is the threshold of second degree burns. Electrocution can occur from as little as 1/10th of an amp passing through the heart. OSHA requires the employer to assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, and NFPA 70E provides specific direction for performing the electrical hazards analysis that includes the arc-flash and shock hazard.

112Organizational Tank Management Beginner The course will cover tank management, inspection requirements, fuel security, and environmental guidance. AFI 23-204 was changed June of last year because of mismanagement and fuel spills associated with these tanks. Fuels management is now required to do external inspections and route reports through organizational commanders for corrections but the importance of these corrections aren’t being emphasized. This will be for both AST and UST requirements.

115Lead-Based Paint Awareness and New Regulations Beginner This course will discuss the topic of lead-based paint (LBP) awareness for the environmental specialist and those charged with the responsibility of maintaining a safe work area. This course will describe the history of lead use in the United States, places where lead is typically found in the workplace, health risks of lead exposure, and lead poisoning prevention. It will also provide a description of activities associated with lead detection and problem solving, including lead inspections, lead risk assessment and lead remediation as well as an overview of lead sampling methodologies.
